19 Minutes
By: Jodi Picoult
Rating: 5
I rate this book a 5 because I like to read books about teenage life. This book reminds me a lot of Batesville and how social status is such a big issue. It's hard for me to get into books, but I really enjoyed it. I can also relate with the character Josie so I couldn't put it down.
In this book you kinda go back and forth. You start at the shooting then you go back to the first day of kindergarten and then towards the end you are 5 months after the shooting.
The reason this reminds me of Batesville because popularity is big deal, having the right clothes, and putting other people down.
I can relate to because her boyfriend is athletic and popular. He has friends that are really rude and mean to other kids and gets sucked into it as well. Also because she lives with her mom but they still aren't that close.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love this book as well.
What did you like about Josie? How, specifically, did you identify with her? Could you share some specific details from the text to explain?
I bet you'd like other books by Picoult.
